How to save a CSV file in Microsoft Excel

The following is an example the process of saving a file as a working  CSV in Microsoft Excel: The first thing to check is that the file is  formatted correctly.

In MS Excel a csv should look similar to the following image:

Excel CSV 1)      Once this format is obtained. Depending on your version of MS  Excel you will click on either the office symbol or the file button.

2003–     2007 –     2010 –     2013 –  

2)      Next click “save as”

3)      Select the “Save as type” and choose CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv)

4)      You may receive a notification warning that some Excel  features may be lost if you save it as a CSV. Click “Yes” to continue.

5)      Your file has now been saved and is ready to import.
